AUTO226N: Automotive Transmissions and Drivelines

This course is designed to introduce students to the basic principles employed in the construction, operation and diagnosis of the various components and systems involved in the Transmissions (manual, automatic, cvt and hybrid) of current automotive vehicle. Topics for this course include cover clutches, transmissions/transaxles, both front and rear wheel drive train components including drive shafts, axles and differentials. Four-wheel drive and all-wheel drive systems are discussed as well. 

Prerequisites

Successful completion of all first year classes or permission of program coordinator.
