CHEM136N: General Chemistry I with Forensic Applications

Class Program
Class Hours 3 Lab Hours 2 Credits 4

This Honors chemistry course introduces the student to the principles of chemistry included in the first semester of a two-semester chemistry course as they apply to forensic problems. The course will include topics such as matter, stoichiometry, chemical reactions, gas and kinetic-molecular theory, thermochemistry, quantum theory and atomic structure, chemical periodicity, chemical bonding, and molecular geometry. Principles taught in lectures will be reinforced in laboratory experiments.

Prerequisites

Mathematical placement into MATH110N or higher.
