MATH105N: Technical Mathematics

This course is designed for students pursuing degrees in technical trades. Topics covered will include: Calculations involving fractions, decimals, ratios and proportions; Calculations involving linear measure; Calculations involving unit conversion; Algebraic manipulation of formulas including direct and inverse variation. Calculations of areas and volumes; Pythagorean Theorem, and right triangle trigonometry. Analysis of statistical information including measures of center and information presented in charts and graphs. If time permits Law of Sines Cosines as well as Vectors & Vector operations will be introduced. Prerequisite: Students who do not satisfactorily place into MATHN105N will be required to enroll in the corresponding Co-Requisite Workshop.
