President’s Message

Dear New and Prospective Students,

Alfred Williams
Alfred Williams

Allow me to welcome you to Nashua Community College and all the wonderful opportunities that we offer.  Since 1970, Nashua Community College has provided high-quality education to meet the needs of our community. Our team of dedicated faculty and staff are here to help students achieve their goals, and our vibrant Student Life ensures everyone get the most out of their college experience.  I want to highlight for you a number of things that make Nashua Community College special.

A Thriving Community

We welcome students of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences to our campus community. Student Services include Spanish and English-speaking staff to help students and their families access all the resources they need to succeed. Peer Mentors help new students navigate college life, and the campus community offers a variety of academic and basic need supports so students can thrive during their time at Nashua Community College.

Student Life

The Office of Student Life enriches the academic experience with co-curricular activities, community engagement, and student leadership opportunities. Student clubs, special events, and the Student Senate make it easy to network and engage in campus activities. Students also benefit from NCC’s engagement with the outside community. We keep a close relationship with the United Way of Greater Nashua, and host United Way events throughout the year to address local needs. Our Multicultural Engagement Department participates in local cultural outreach events and NCC also sponsors community events, such as the City of Nashua’s Multicultural Festival.

Access & Affordability

While maintaining quality programming, NCC has the lowest tuition rate in the region, and our Financial Aid Office is always available to identify and facilitate access to grants, scholarships, and other funds.

Student Service staff help guide students towards the most efficient academic pathways, helping them save money and smoothly transition into their chosen careers or further education. Flexible schedules comprising on-campus, online, and hybrid classes help students optimize their time at NCC while maintaining a healthy work-life-school balance.

Additionally, our Career Coach online resource enables students to evaluate their academic interests, explore local job opportunities, and align their career aspirations with our academic pathways.

Realize your purpose at NCC

Backed by experienced faculty and supported by program advisory boards, community partners, and peers; NCC graduates have gone on to excel in academics and in the workforce. NCC alumni have established successful businesses, pursued careers in science, nursing, teaching, and engineering, and have transferred to four-year institutions and beyond.

A Legacy of Leadership and Service

Nashua Community College lost a dedicated leader when Lucille Jordan passed in December 2024 after 27 years as College President. President Jordan’s vision brought the college into the modern higher education landscape as not only a thriving vocational and trade school, but as a bridge to bachelor, master’s, and doctorate programs.

Throughout her tenure as president, her guiding question was always “is it good for the students?” and that ethos has given us the institution here today. Lucille’s dedication to leadership and service and her goals of civil discourse are models that NCC follow.

Because of President Jordan we have flexible, accessible academic and career training for Greater Nashua residents. Because of her work with industry partners, programs are aligned with workforce needs and graduates are highly employable. And because of her spirit of service, NCC works alongside City and Community agencies to close achievement gaps and support the most vulnerable among us, so everyone gets the chance they deserve to succeed.

Know that, whatever your educational goals, a degree or certificate can change your life and open doors.  By reading this catalogue and enrolling in classes you are taking the first step through those doors.  NCC’s faculty, staff and I know that together we can accomplish great things.  We would be honored if you would join us.

Sincerely,

Alfred Williams
