Program Overview

The Healthcare Management associate degree blends foundational business knowledge with essential healthcare industry skills, equipping graduates to support the daily operations of healthcare organizations as well as transferring to a four-year college/university to continue their education. Students learn how healthcare systems function, how to manage patient information ethically and how to support teams in delivering high-quality care. 

Residency Requirements

At least 15 semester credits must be taken at Nashua Community College not including transfer credits. A minimum of 8 credits of coursework in the program must be completed at the “200” level.

Admissions Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be high school graduates or have the GED equivalent.
  • Submit an application for admission and have official transcripts forwarded to Nashua Community College by secondary and post-secondary institutions previously attended.
  • Participate in the self-placement survey or ACCUPLACER® Placement Assessment test when appropriate.
Program Outcomes

Upon the completion of the degree, graduates will be able to:

  1. Analyze and compare the structure, functions, and delivery models of the US healthcare system to assess their impact on access, cost and quality of care.
  2. Apply healthcare laws, regulations, and ethical standards to analyze and justify administrative and operational decisions in healthcare settings.
  3. Produce and adapt professional verbal and written communication for diverse healthcare audiences, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards.
  4. Use healthcare information systems, including electronic health records, to manage data, support decision-making, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  5. Analyze and apply medical terminology to interpret clinical information and ensure accuracy in healthcare documentation.

In addition, the graduate will be able to demonstrate competency in the general education outcomes.
